The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization based in Philadelphia, PA. FIRE's mission is to defend and sustain the individual rights of students and faculty members on American campuses These rights include freedom of speech, freedom of association, legal equality, and sanctity of conscience. FIRE educates students, faculty, and the public about threats to these rights and provides the means to preserve them.
